Sadly, not me moving much but the hospital have been on the phone.

There is discussion over whether I need to be seen before my appt on the 15th March at rheumatology. they have a faxed copy of the bloods and the registrar wants to speak to the head chief before agreeing to see me. Why do I have to be "complex"???!

also the gp wants to see me, she is back from her hols and wants a once over.

I will ask her about the care needs.

Love

Hi Jenni,

If you can be seen before the 15.3.10, I would go for it and don't see why this can't be arranged. Good idea to speak to your GP about your care needs as he/she can send an urgent referral to SS to request an increase in your care package. I still think it would be a good idea to request a comprehensive needs assessment, as your needs have clearly changed and require an urgent review.

Just remember you are not complex, but the damn disease is and the way it has impacted upon your life.

Love,

Barbara

Hi Jenni

Okay, it's a bummer of a disease, a hopeless system and often useless people working in it but at least there may be just a glimmer of hope here!

Most certainly you need a complete review of everything ... your condition/s, your meds, your ongoing medical care and right now a full assessment of your care needs and those of your family. I think it's pretty awful, as poorly as you are, that you are having to sort out all this for yourself. Fortunately Jenni you are a strong lady with a constitution that will fight where others would give up. I hope now your own GP will set the ball rolling and get things in place with positive direction for the future.

Thinking of you and hoping Gemma is settling well.

Hoping you can get seen early, Jenni, and that your GP can get a better care plan in place for you.

Take care,

Kathleen x

Having been out of touch a couple of weeks, I am so sorry you are still having such a tough time. I do hope tomorrow is a useful consultation and you get some action. It is scary how important these precious appointments are.
An extra prayer for you tonight
